Bountiful Summer

As I picked raspberries at Monadnock Berries about 12 minutes from our home, I mused that New Hampshire, and especially the Monadnock Region is really nature's paradise....we have it all...from our mountains, lakes, ponds, rivers, to our organic farm stands, to berry farms, artist venues, rambling trails, music concerts, quaint villages, parks, beaches, .....Our backyard alone is a harmony of colorful and melodic birds...the abundant flowers and herbs reflect a varied palette...It is just plain exhilarating to pick berries in the shadow of Monadnock, feel the breeze or sun play fickle tunes across your skin...then to switch gears and return home to load the kayak and paddle some new water...

Fireworks in Jaffrey on Saturday , August 21. Women's Herbal Conference in Peterborough at the Sargent Center this weekend.

Hiking opportunities abound in the Monadnock Region: Little Monadnock and Gap Mountain right here in town. Grand Monadnock is less than 15 minutes from Fitzwilliam and visible from here. Honeyhill, Marlborough trails....ponds and lakes welcome the boaters, too! Bike the many rails to trails...(We can even help with transportation from the trail if you call ahead....) Rhododendron State Park in Fitzwilliam offers a wildflower trail as well as a mountain hike. The rhododendrons bloom in mid-July.
Our location provides easy access to nearby colleges and schools: Franklin Pierce, Keene State, Antioch, Dublin School, Hampshire School, Meeting House School and Winchendon schools. Numerous well known children's camps are closeby....Fleur de Lis, Wak-lo, Wakoda to name a few....

There are excellent dining choices here in town or nearby: JP Stevens, Sunflowers Cafe, Woodbound Restaurant, Santino's, Monadnock Inn, Harbor Restaurant...
Crossroads Pizza just opened here in town, and the Granite Grill is now open in the former Casey J's, a barbeque and casual atmosphere...
